Volunteer Centre Achieves Quality Accreditation with flying colours
The Volunteer Centre Sunderland is delighted to announce that it has been has been awarded a top quality mark, VCQA (Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation) which is the quality framework for Volunteer Centre’s set by Volunteering England the national infrastructure body for Volunteering.
To be able to achieve the quality mark the team needed to evidence the core functions of a Volunteer Centre outlined through six key areas of work including:
- Brokerage
- Marketing of Volunteering
- Policy response and Campaigning for Volunteering
- Good Practice Development with organisations involving Volunteers
- Developing volunteering opportunities
- Strategic Development of Volunteering
The quality mark has allowed the Volunteer Centre to continue to use its well known national branding for the next 3 years and helps the centre to provide a better service for its users as well as becoming a stronger organisation with increased credibility with its service users.
David Curtis, Chief Officer said, “This quality mark shows that we aim to provide the highest quality service to volunteers and organisations working with volunteers. We look forward to working with more of the amazing volunteers across the City of Sunderland showing that a little time can really make a big difference”.
